Sinners Continues to Take a Bite Out of the Box Office

Sinners won the box office when it came out last weekend, and it’s still holding strong in week two. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the period vampire flick made $45 million domestically and maintained its top spot. Compared to its $48 million opening weekend, its take fell by just six percent, making for the smallest decline for an R-rated horror title. It’s also one of the smallest drops for a second-weekend movie with a $40 million+ opening, and last time that happened was back with Avatar in 2009. At $163 million worldwide, it’s currently the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2025. Critically, Sinners is director-writer Ryan Coogler’s highest-rated movie to date, and audience scores are equally glowing.
