If you're worried about tariffs pushing up prices for smartphones and laptops, you may be buying tech sooner rather than later, but have you thought about what you'll do with your old devices? A CNET survey found that over three in 10 (31%) US adults hang onto old smartphones, video game consoles, laptops and other tech accessories because they're unsure what to do with them. Findings also show that nearly one in five (19%) US adults throw these devices away. However, 37% prefer to trade in their old tech for an exchange or upgrade, while 25% prefer to sell it. If you're thinking about buying a new gadget, then selling your old devices can help offset the cost of it. But if your device is broken or too outdated, like my old Macbook Air, experts recommend recycling it to avoid polluting the environment and hogging up space in your dresser drawers.
