Trump’s National Security Advisor Pushed Out After Signalgate, Replaced by Rubio

Mike Waltz, the national security advisor who accidentally added the editor of The Atlantic to a Signal chat discussing an attack on Yemen, is being pushed out of his position, to be temporarily replaced by Marco Rubio, according to a post from President Donald Trump on Truth Social. Waltz will be nominated to be ambassador to the United Nations, according to Trump.
“I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations,” Trump wrote Thursday afternoon. News had leaked earlier in the day that Waltz was on his way out.
“From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress and, as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation’s Interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role,” Trump continued.
Rubio already has several jobs, including Secretary of State, Acting Archivist of the United States, and the head of USAID. Waltz’s deputy, Alex Wong, is also being shown the exit.
