Trump Says He Won't Take TikTok Away From Americans

President Donald Trump says TikTok isn't going anywhere anytime soon, even if the popular video app doesn't reach a deal to sell itself before its current June deadline. In a wide-ranging interview with NBC's Meet the Press that aired Sunday, Trump said he won't let a US ban of TikTok go into effect. He said that if needed, he would consider signing yet another executive order giving the company's China-based parent company, ByteDance, more time to divest the app. "I'd like to see it done," he said to NBC's Kristen Welker of a deal for TikTok's sale, adding, "Perhaps I shouldn't say this, but I have a little warm spot in my heart for TikTok. TikTok is -- it's very interesting, but it'll be protected. It'll be very strongly protected. But if it needs an extension, I would be willing to give it an extension. Might not need it."
