An Android Authority writer describes being billed for roaming data twice in three months even though mobile data and roaming were turned off on a rarely used phone connected only to Wi-Fi. The carrier recorded tiny amounts of roaming usage—under 200KB—which triggered a full roaming-day charge, echoing a widely shared case of a Reddit user hit with a $53,000 AT&T bill after a European trip.
T-Mobile has become the first US carrier to support Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature in iOS 27, which lets one phone number work across two iPhones by activating service on whichever device is unlocked, syncing texts, calls, voicemail and Find My location. T-Mobile is charging $5 a month for the feature, which requires carrier-level eSIM configuration on both devices. Verizon plans to add support by year's end, while AT&T has not committed to offering it.

A beta build of iOS 27 reveals a feature called iPhone Handoff, spotted by a MacRumors forum member, that lets a primary iPhone and a secondary companion iPhone share a single cellular plan and phone number using dual eSIMs. Unlike existing Continuity tools that rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, this setup appears to work at the network level, so the companion device stays connected even if the main iPhone is off. The option is expected to appear under Settings > Cellular once it launches.
Apple has outlined several methods for users locked out of their iPhones after too many failed passcode attempts. Depending on the iOS version and available hardware, users can revert to a previous passcode, erase and reset the device using Find My and their Apple Account credentials, or connect the phone to a computer for a full reset via iCloud backup.
