What We Publish

GoKawiil publishes two kinds of page. Most are briefs about technology news reported elsewhere. The rest are GoKawiil features — explainers and guides written here, marked "GoKawiil Original", which cite no outside publication because there isn't one to cite.

A brief covers news reported elsewhere. Each story page carries a GoKawiil Brief summarising what happened in our own words, a "Why It Matters" section giving context the news itself does not spell out, and key takeaways. We do not reproduce the text of the articles we summarise.

Source Attribution

Every brief names the publication that did the original reporting, credits the reporter where the source provides a byline, and links directly to the original story. Facts and quotes belong to the original publisher, and we send readers there for the full account.

AI-Assisted Analysis

Our briefs, analysis and topic tags are drafted with an AI language model (Anthropic's Claude) from the source reporting, under the rules set out here, and are labelled as GoKawiil's own writing rather than the publisher's. The model is instructed not to reuse the source's phrasing and not to add facts the reporting does not contain. Analysis is intended to add context, not to replace original journalism.

Content Selection

Stories are selected automatically from curated RSS feeds of reputable technology publications. We do not editorially select or suppress individual stories based on viewpoint or advertiser influence.

How Stories Are Checked Before Publication

GoKawiil is an automated newsroom, but it is not an unfiltered pipe from a feed reader to this page. Every story passes these checks, and anything that fails one is held back rather than published:

• Source allowlist. We only cover reporting from a maintained list of established technology and science publications. Nothing is picked up from the open web.
• Deduplication. Stories are fingerprinted by their normalised source URL, so the same article arriving from two feeds produces one page. Pages identified as duplicates redirect permanently to the one we kept.
• Completeness requirement. A story is only published when it has a GoKawiil headline, a brief, a "Why It Matters" analysis and three takeaways. Partial or failed generations are never published, and pages without our own writing are excluded from search engines.
• Promotional filtering. Coupon, promo-code and deal-of-the-day posts are detected and dropped; they are never published.
• Provenance. Every published story records which model drafted it, so any batch can be audited and regenerated.
• Correction on request. Readers and publishers can have any page corrected or removed - see below.

Affiliate Links

Some briefs include an Amazon affiliate link to a related product. These are algorithmically generated based on the topic, are clearly labelled as affiliate links and as untested suggestions, and never appear in place of the reporting. Affiliate relationships do not influence which stories are covered or how they are ranked.

Corrections and Removal

If you spot an error in a GoKawiil brief or analysis, please contact us at [email protected]. We will correct or remove inaccurate content promptly. Publishers who would prefer we not summarise their reporting can write to the same address and we will remove it and stop covering that source.
