New open-source project introduces stateless, typed memory database for AI agents

A developer has released a lightweight database designed specifically for AI agent memory, built on a typed schema with supersession rules instead of relying on semantic text retrieval. The system aims to run cold-first at the edge, avoiding the cost and complexity of maintaining hot vector indexes in RAM or SSDs for smaller, resource-constrained deployments. The project was shared as a Show HN post on Hacker News.

Anthropic unifies Claude's memory across chat and Cowork

Anthropic announced it is merging the memory systems behind Claude's chat interface and its Cowork agent product, so information learned in one context carries over to the other. Users can now view, edit, or delete stored memories, and Claude will log details continuously during conversations rather than only summarizing at the end.

Anthropic merges memory between Claude Cowork and Claude chat

Anthropic has unified its memory feature so that Claude Cowork, its cloud-based task tool, now shares the same memory as Claude's chat interface. This means details from prior conversations carry over into Cowork tasks and vice versa, reducing the need to re-explain context. Sensitive topics like health or beliefs are excluded from memory by default but can be manually enabled in settings.

Anthropic links Claude and Cowork memory, adds real-time updates

Anthropic now shares a single memory system between Claude and its Cowork tool, so context from past chats carries over automatically when switching between them. Claude also updates its memory in real time without needing explicit prompts, and users get new controls to view, edit, delete or pause stored memories in Settings.

Anthropic now lets Claude share memories between its chatbot interface and Cowork, its cloud-based computer-use agent, so context from regular chats carries into automated tasks and back. The update also adds a toggle letting users allow Claude to remember sensitive topics like health or politics, which are excluded by default, with notifications each time such a memory is stored.

Singapore study links early childhood screen time to lower academic scores at age 9

A birth-cohort study tracking 502 Singaporean children from age 1 to 8 found that higher screen viewing time, especially at age 1, 1.5 and 6 years, was linked to weaker academic performance at age 9 and poorer working memory at 10.5, even after adjusting for other factors. Cumulative screen exposure across childhood also predicted lower academic performance, though not working memory.

Amazon Raises Echo, Fire TV, Kindle Prices Up to 60% Over Memory Costs

Amazon has increased prices across its device lineup—including Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Eero products—by as much as 60%, citing rising memory and storage component costs. The Echo Dot, for instance, jumped overnight from $49.99 to $79.99, a spike confirmed by price-tracking tools like CamelCamelCamel. Amazon says it absorbed these cost increases as long as possible before passing them on to customers, though it plans occasional promotions going forward.

Amazon raises prices up to 60% on Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Eero devices

Amazon quietly increased prices on its hardware lineup over the weekend, with some products like the Echo Dot jumping from $49.99 to $79.99. The company confirmed the hikes to TechCrunch, attributing them to rising memory and storage component costs it can no longer absorb, while promising occasional promotions in the coming year.
