Bluesky now allows videos up to 10 minutes long, a major jump from the three-minute cap set just last year, and has raised the max file size to 300MB. The company says uploads will also be 2-3x faster, and because Bluesky runs on the decentralized AT Protocol, other apps like Bluescreen, Reelo, and Skylight will inherit the longer video support too.
Bluesky announced it is extending its maximum video length from three minutes to 10 minutes, alongside a new 300MB file size cap and faster upload speeds of 2x-3x. The change also benefits third-party apps built on the AT Protocol, like Bluescreen, Reelo and Skylight, which will inherit the same longer video capability.
Shipyard announced that Protocol Labs will not renew its funding, forcing the company to wind down its engineering, maintenance, and infrastructure work on IPFS. The team's final day supporting the project will be September 30, 2026, after roughly three years of building tools like inbrowser.link and reworking gateway infrastructure to handle more traffic at lower cost. Shipyard says planned future work, including HTTP-native IPFS implementations and Tor-based hosting support, will now go unfinished by their team.
