HP has begun taking orders for its ZGX Fury AI workstation, a system based on Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip pairing a Blackwell Ultra GPU with a 72-core Grace CPU. The machine offers 748GB of unified, coherent memory and up to 20 petaFLOPS of FP4 compute, and ships alongside a new partnership between HP, Red Hat, and Nvidia to run Red Hat AI Factory software on the hardware.
A volunteer has created a public GitHub mirror and continuation of the freedesktop.org SPICE Windows guest agent project after Red Hat stopped maintaining it. The fork keeps building and packaging the Windows service that enables clipboard sharing, resolution matching, and file transfer for VMs, with fixes like a multi-GPU mouse tracking patch for passthrough setups.
CERN engineers announced at a Winterthur conference that the lab will shift over 2,200 machines from Red Hat Enterprise Linux to Debian. The move stems from RHEL 9 and 10's newer compiler requirements, which drop support for older CPU architectures still used in many of CERN's embedded control systems.
