BlueMoon exploit kit chains Chrome and Windows zero-days in espionage campaigns

Security researchers at Proofpoint and Volexity uncovered a modular attack tool called BlueMoon that strings together two Chromium browser flaws and a Windows kernel bug to achieve remote code execution and system-level control. The kit has been used since late August by China-linked group JungleBamboo (also known as APT31) and by a separate actor Volexity calls UTA0560, which targeted NGO staff. Analysts believe one of the three vulnerabilities, a Windows ALPC flaw, was repurposed from an existing 2025 exploit rather than newly built.

Study: Declining Face-to-Face Conversation Linked to Workplace Health Risks

Research highlighted in the report shows people are talking to each other less often than in the past, a shift attributed largely to rising reliance on digital communication over in-person interaction. Analysts warn this decline in conversation is already affecting mental health and workplace dynamics, yet most organizations have not adjusted policies to address it.

Prophet Security: Identity attacks drove half of confirmed threats in Q2 2026

Prophet Security analyzed every alert across customer environments from May to July 2026, rather than only alerts analysts chose to escalate. Of the incidents fully investigated, 93% were benign and 7% were confirmed malicious, with identity-related attacks accounting for roughly half of that malicious activity. The firm identified session hijacking, token replay, MFA bypass, credential stuffing, and phishing as the dominant attack patterns.

Verge senior reviewer Victoria Song describes a growing online subculture of men sharing 'looksmaxxing' routines, including testosterone boosters, gray-market peptides, and drugs like Cialis taken off-label for longevity rather than their approved use. Figures like biohacker Bryan Johnson promote these regimens publicly, framing them as tools for physical optimization, appearance, or anti-aging rather than treating any diagnosed condition.

The hosts singled out a prior video described as the 'software brain' segment as the most discussed piece of content on the show in the past six months.

Hobbyist Mike builds third-generation vacuum tube computer using 460 Soviet-era 6N3P tubes

A self-taught electronics enthusiast named Mike has completed his third vacuum tube computer this decade, detailing the project on Hackaday. The 8-bit machine relies on 460 recycled 1950s Soviet 6N3P double triode tubes and germanium diodes instead of transistors or microprocessors, requiring 10-15 minutes to warm up before it can run and giving off a burning-dust smell during operation.
