Fake Claude installer ads abuse Bing redirects to evade Google Ads security checks

Push Security reports that a malvertising campaign is routing Google search ads through Bing's trusted click-tracking domain before funneling victims through a hacked WordPress site to a fake Claude download page. The scheme, found after a malicious ad surfaced for searches like "claude mac," uses layered cloaking checks to hide the malicious payload from scanners and direct visitors, ultimately pushing macOS users toward ClickFix-style attacks that trick them into running malicious commands.

SpaceX spectrum deal with Grain Management sends telecom stocks tumbling

SpaceX announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide spectrum portfolio from Grain Management, covering up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band, to expand Starlink into mobile service. Verizon shares fell about 7%, heading for their worst day since 2002, while T-Mobile dropped 12% and AT&T fell roughly 10%; SpaceX stock rose about 1%. FCC Chair Brendan Carr said the deal is part of over $100 billion in spectrum expected to enter the market over the next two years.

Attackers Target Executives' Families as Weak Link Into Corporate Networks

Security researchers describe a growing cybercriminal tactic of targeting executives' family members and friends, who often lack the security training given to leadership, to gain backdoor access into corporate systems. Google Cloud's Office of the CISO warned in March that personal attacks against executives are rising, and BlackCloak's Brian Hill notes attackers can map a household's routines and relationships through reconnaissance before pivoting to impersonation, device compromise, or phishing.

Arlington County sues over Trump's planned D.C. triumphal arch

Arlington County Board filed a federal lawsuit in the Eastern District of Virginia opposing construction of President Trump's planned Triumphal Arch at Memorial Circle, arguing the National Park Service is rushing toward construction without completing required environmental review. The suit asks a court to halt the project's progress until National Environmental Policy Act requirements, including proper analysis and testing, are satisfied.

DOJ weighs perjury, obstruction charges against Jan. 6 witness Cassidy Hutchinson

Federal prosecutors have been considering perjury and obstruction-of-justice charges against Cassidy Hutchinson, the former Mark Meadows aide whose testimony to the January 6 committee implicated Trump, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Any grand jury indictment is not expected before the midterm elections, the sources said. Prosecutors have reportedly compared her committee transcripts with later interviews given to former special counsel Jack Smith's team, focusing on inconsistencies including her account of an alleged notecard statement and a disputed Secret Service altercation.
