SwitchBot released its Evaporative Humidifier last year, and it’s now even better thanks to newly upgraded firmware that includes Matter 1.4 support. The update brings faster setup and better cross-platform compatibility for a device type that is typucally stuck as a “dumb appliance” in your house.

Unlike a lot of humidifiers, the SwitchBot Evaporative Humidifier uses cold evaporation. A fan blows air over a soaked wick filter to increase humidity without creating mist or white dust. With an output of up to 750mL per hour and a max runtime of 22.5 hours, it is a great option for homes with small kids, allergy concerns, or anyone looking for cleaner moisture in the air.
Even smarter with Matter 1.4
Matter 1.4 brings new features like improved multi-platform access, streamlined onboarding, and support for additional device types. Once paired with the SwitchBot Hub 2, the humidifier can work with HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home without needing to be added to each platform individually. You can use Siri to control it, build automation with other HomeKit devices, and make it part of your daily scenes and automations.
A quiet operation
The 4.5 liter tank is easy to fill, and the wick filter lasts up to four years depending on your local water. A visible water level window makes it easy to check the status without removing the tank. With a noise level under 18 dB, it runs silently in the background so it’s great in a bedroom, nursery, or an office.
It’s also easy to move around the house thanks to its compact build and included wheels. That allows it to handle dry spots across different rooms without much effort.
