Lost in the barrage of iPhone 17 news last week was a new lineup of cases from Apple’s Beats subsidiary. This marks the second year in a row that Beats has made cases for Apple’s flagship smartphones.
I was a big fan of the Beats cases for iPhone 16, but this year the Beats Kickstand Case stands apart for me …

Here’s the full lineup of Beats cases for the iPhone 17 lineup:
Beats Matte Finish case
Beats Rugged Case
Beats Kickstand Case
I’ve tried all three of the Beats cases, and they’re excellent. The vanilla Beats iPhone 17 case is a simple option available in fun colors. The Rugged Case is nice and grippy without being too thick or awkward to hold. The one that really stands out, however, is the Beats Kickstand Case.
I saw the Beats Kickstand Case during my iPhone briefing at Apple Park earlier this month, and there was an audible gasp when the Apple representative showed us the hidden kickstand design. Here’s how it works.
The Beats Kickstand Case has a built-in lanyard that looks pretty standard on the surface. At the end of the lanyard, however, is a plastic adapter. This adapter slides open and presents a small divot that then attaches to a magnetic point on the side of the case, located between the Camera Control and power button. It’s a pretty ingenious design that’ll be useful to prop up your iPhone around your house, a desk, an airplane tray table, or just about anywhere. It’s stable and you can tap on the screen without worrying about it falling over.
The lanyard is also detachable, so if you don’t want it hanging off the side all the time, you can easily remove it. For instance, you could remove it and keep it in your backpack to attach when you’re traveling and think you’ll find it more useful.
iPhone cases are a dime a dozen, but I’ve found the Beats cases to be a worthy addition to Apple’s lineup the last two years. What about you?
