The hit spy drama Slow Horses premieres its fifth season today on Apple TV+. The first episode of the new season, entitled ‘Bad Dates’, is available to watch now with the rest of the episodes rolling out weekly each Wednesday.
If you haven’t seen the show before, Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, in charge of a department of spies that have been kicked out of the main MI5 operations. This season, a new character joins the cast whose face Ted Lasso fans are familiar with …
Nick Mohammed joins the show as London mayor. However, it is still mostly about the core cast of Lamb, River (Jack Lowden) and the rest of the Slough House gang.
As always, the TV show is based off the book series by Mick Herron. Season five is mostly based off the events of the ‘London Rules’ novel.
Episode 1 of the new season kicks off with a mass shooting, and an apparent plot on the life of team member Roddy Ho.
Although critical reviews for this season haven’t been quite as positive as some of the previous instalments, Slow Horses season five currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s still a crowd pleaser.
If you haven’t seen the show, now is a great time to catch up. All four completed seasons of Slow Horses are streaming now on Apple TV+, with the fifth season rolling out weekly. If you want to wait and binge it all at once, the season 5 finale will air on October 29.
Given the success of the franchise for Apple, you can expect even more seasons coming in the future. Filming on a sixth season has already completed, and production on season seven is underway.
