Amazon's Ring home security brand is getting a camera-wide upgrade starting on Sept. 30, with Retinal Vision to enhance details during image processing. Amazon also announced the next generation of its Ring video doorbell, the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus 2K ($180), as well as the Ring Indoor Cam Plus 2K ($60).
For those who want even more detail, Ring is also launching a line of 4K cameras, its first step into higher resolution. Ring's 4K devices include an Outdoor Cam Pro, Spotlight Cam Pro, Wired Doorbell Pro and Floodlight Cam Pro, which will all have Retinal Vision capabilities, 10x zooming and increased low-light performance. All are available for preorder starting now.
Amazon promised a new capability called Search Party to help unite people in the Ring app to look for lost pets (since most of the shared Ring videos have something to do with animals, this isn't totally surprising). Anyone can opt in or out as they please.
