Do you need more storage for your iPhone, MacBook, or pretty much any device with a USB-C port? Do you need something faster than a flash drive? A portable SSD enclosure is the way to go.

While most SSD enclosures are rather chunky, accessory maker Sharge has come out with what it claims is the world's thinnest one -- and at less than a quarter of an inch thick, the Disk Plus is a sleek, stylish way to add extra storage to any device.

The Disk Plus is CNC machined from aluminum alloy and has the thickness of three coins and the size of a credit card holder -- it measures 93 x 60 x 6mm/3.66 x 2.36 x 0.24 inches.

But don't let the small size fool you—this enclosure packs a punch. It supports M.2 NVMe drives up to 4TB in a range of form factors -- 2280, 2242, and 2230 -- and speeds up to 10Gbps. That's enough to move a 4K movie in 20 seconds.

M.2 drives generate quite a bit of heat in use, but the enclosure does an excellent job of dissipating it from what I've seen. But there's more.

The enclosure has a built-in holder for a thin ribbon USB-C cable, and there are two USB-C ports on the enclosure. Why two? Because it supports up to 100W power pass-through, so you can connect a power supply to one of the ports, and the device -- MacBook, iPhone 15/16, Steam Deck, iPad, Google Pixel, or pretty much anything that has a USB-C port -- to the other, and that can get both data and power!
