Updated: October 7, 2025 (12 AM ET): A Google spokesperson provided the following statement to Android Authority, clarifying that Genshin Impact will continue running on the Pixel 10 series. Genshin Impact has not removed Pixel 10 GPU support. We partnered closely with miHoYo over the past year for Pixel 10. As we noted in our original article, the game is running just fine on our Pixel 10 Pro XL. We played it a bit more since the original article was published and didn’t face any issues. The issue evidently stems from Genshin Impact dropping support for PowerVR GPUs with its v5.0 update last year. Although the game doesn’t officially support PowerVR graphics, the developers note that devices that don’t meet the minimum requirements for the game will still be able to launch the game, but may experience performance issues.
Google switched from ARM’s Mali GPUs to Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR series for the Pixel 10 lineup, specifically the PowerVR DXT-48-1536. The fact that Genshin Impact doesn’t support PowerVR GPUs, such as the one on Google’s latest flagships, has led people to speculate that the Pixel 10 series is completely incompatible with the game.
