The holiday season marketing seems to creep closer and closer every year, and Amazon is back again, trying to outpace everyone before Black Friday with its Prime Big Deal Days. Lucky for us geeks and tech lovers, though, this is an excellent opportunity to grab some great products at a discounted price to start enjoying them a bit earlier than holiday shoppers.
I’ve been a Pixel user since 2017 and have tried nearly every Pixel, Pixel Watch, and Pixel Buds out there. So, I’m here to help you weed out the dud deals among Google’s discounted hardware, and find the ones that actually make the most sense — you know, the ones I’d actually buy if I didn’t already have them in front of me.
Pixel 10 Pro XL at $949 ($250 off)

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL was just released in August, and it’s already on sale at a price lower than the pre-order deal. The starting version with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage is down from $1,199 to $949 at Amazon, a discount of $50 more than the pre-order bonus. All four colors are down, and so are the larger storage variants, but the deal is less appealing there. You can grab the 512GB for $1,019 instead of $1,219, and the 1TB version for $1,249 instead of $1,449 — only $200 off for either.
So what does nearly-a-grand get you in phone features? For starters, this is the phone I’m using right now and will continue using for the next 12 months. It’s the best Pixel out there with Android 16 out of the box, an excellent display, good battery life, an AI-tailored Tensor G5 processor, built-in Qi2.2 with magnets, and a dependable camera that can zoom up to 100x. Personally, I think it does better at 30x-50x, but you can go further if you prefer. At 5x-10x, it’s easily one of the best cams I’ve ever used for travel, sports games, concerts, and even simple portraits. And thankfully, Google has fixed the lifeless colors problem of the Pixel 9 Pro here.
I’d say go with your eyes closed on this one, but Pixels should come with a warning these days: If you spend a lot of time playing GPU-intensive games, if you never want to worry about battery life, or if you care about any benchmark, you should probably stay away. For anyone else who just wants a great smartphone that does great smartphone things, this is an easy winner.
