Following the October 6 release of developer beta 2, Apple is now rolling out macOS Tahoe 26.1 beta 3. Here’s what to expect from this release. Setting the stage for new AI features The first two betas of macOS Tahoe 26.1 brought interesting under-the-hood improvements, including the first steps of MCP adoption across all operating systems, as well as initial support for third-party models in Image Playground beyond ChatGPT. The two betas also brought the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, following the official release of macOS Tahoe 26 last September. The build rolling out to developers right now is 25B5062e. We are digging through the release and will report back with what we find.
