When Spotify launched the AI-based DJ interactivity last month, it did so as a beta. The company spent the last few months gathering feedback from its users, and released a few improvements that will likely get more people to try, and possibly adopt the feature:
Typed requests: Spotify says that this was by far the most requested feature on social media. Now, in addition to interacting with DJ by voice, users can also type their music requests, which is perfect for public, crowded, or quiet spaces.

Spanish support: Launched in 2024 for Spanish-speaking users, DJ Livi now also takes requests. The rollout includes support for typed and voice requests, bringing DJ Livi on par with the English-speaking DJ.
In addition to these two features, DJ will also offer three personalized prompt suggestions, which is a nice way to both teach users what it can do, and recommend songs and playlists that actually match their listening habits.
