Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.1 yesterday for all users, and today new privacy tools for Spotlight’s clipboard history feature were discovered that hadn’t been noticed before.
Spotlight’s clipboard history feature now offers privacy-friendly options
Spotlight in macOS Tahoe became a lot more powerful, with features like Quick Keys, new supported actions, more relevant results, and more.
Clipboard history was another tentpole Spotlight upgrade in macOS Tahoe.
Inside System Settings ⇾ Spotlight you can choose to optionally turn Clipboard History on or off, depending on your privacy inclinations.
But now with macOS Tahoe 26.1, as discovered by MacRumors, Apple has expanded the privacy tools to be a lot more useful.
Rather than limiting you to ‘On’ and ‘Off’ settings for clipboard history, 26.1 now lets you choose how long you want your history saved.
