It’s been a few years, but the Titans are about to stomp their way back onto Apple TV. The streamer just announced that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will return for season 2 on February 27th. The new season will span 10 episodes.

Monarch initially premiered back in 2023, so it’s been a bit of a wait to see what happens next. The show is part of Legendary’s Monsterverse, meaning it’s connected to the recent Godzilla and King Kong films. Monarch is the name of the fictional organization investigating all of those giant creatures, and Apple says that the second season will feature much of the same cast, including Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm.

Here’s the basic set-up:

The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.

Of course, Monarch is just one part of Apple’s ever-growing lineup of science fiction series, the most recent of which is Pluribus, from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan.
