Another one of Rockstar’s greatest hits is coming Netflix. On December 4th you’ll be able to play Red Dead Redemption and it’s zombified standalone DLC Undead Nightmare for free as long as you have a Netflix subscription. The news broke when prolific video game news hound Wario64 found listings for the game on the iOS and Android store.

And it seems like Netflix isn’t the only one that’ll let you ride horses with John Marsten. Wario64 also found that Red Dead Redemption has appeared on the ESRB website with ratings for the PS5, Xbox Series, and the Switch 2. No word yet on when those versions will be released.

Read Dead Redemption launched in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. In 2023, the game was ported to the Switch and the PS4, and ported to PC in 2024. Now it’s getting another port to current era consoles. Its sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, however, has not gotten similar treatment.

Rockstar is old hat at extending the life of their most popular games. GTA V has gotten updates the last three console generations and GTA Online, launched alongside GTA V, is still receiving regular updates. It seems then that Rockstar wants to keep its fans engaged with games they know and love while they wait for the now twice-delayed GTA VI.
