Earlier this year, Satechi introduced its OntheGo collection. As the name implies, it was a collection of travel-focused accessories designed to simplify your tech life on the go. They release charging bricks, 3 1 folding chargers, trackers, and a few other goodies. Now they are expanding that collection with the introduction of the 7 in 1 MagSafe Multiport adapter. As someone who uses their iPhone for everything from video to gaming to communicating to podcasting, this new accessory has been a great addition to the travel pack. Here is what you need to know.
Now, the name is a mouthful, but the function is perfect for most situations. It’s about the size of a hockey puck and lighter than a deck of cards. So it’s extremely easy to throw into a bag or a pouch. It also utilizes MagSafe to attach to the rear of your iPhone, so you don’t have something just dangling from your phone. The 7 in 1 includes:
HDMI port that supports 4k60
2× USB-A (5Gbps) ports
SD and microSD card readers (up to 2TB support)
Gigabit Ethernet for wired internet
USB-C PD with up to 100W pass-through charging
Since it does have a magnetic base, it also includes a magnetic adhesive ring if you want to put it on the rear of your MacBook or even your iPad.

As I mentioned, it features a magnetic base, but a nice detail is that it rotates very smoothly, which is great because it comes with a high-quality braided cable that unwinds from the base to then plug into the iPhone. Once plugged in, there is a small LED indicator to let you know that the hub is on and connected. So the package is nice and compact.
