iOS 26.2 is coming next month with exciting updates for Reminders, Apple Music, Podcasts, and more. It’s also been discovered that a recent CarPlay addition, widgets, is getting even better in iOS 26.2—but it all depends on your vehicle.
iOS 26.2 expands CarPlay widget slots for some vehicles
Earlier this fall, Apple launched its biggest CarPlay update in years with iOS 26.
Among the release’s many new features, one welcome addition is iPhone-style widgets.
Depending on your vehicle’s infotainment screen size, you likely will see either one or two widgets on-screen at once.
But in iOS 26.2, Apple seems to be expanding the number of widget stacks available—at least for some vehicles.
Tom Warren of The Verge posted on X that his vehicle previously showed two widgets, but in iOS 26.2 it now shows three.

It’s unclear how many vehicles will get expanded widget stacks in iOS 26.2.
Apple has no official documentation around which vehicles can show more widgets than others. All it says is the following:
