The Apple Store today announced its Black Friday shopping event, which runs November 28 through December 1. Shoppers can get up to a $250 gift card when buying eligible Mac, iPhone, iPad, Watch and more.
Apple’s gift card promotions don’t generally represent the best value for money. For instance, you can buy AirPods 4 on Amazon right now discounted more than the $25 gift card value Apple is offering in this promotion. Similarly, the 15-inch MacBook Air is discounted by $250 right now on Amazon, exceeding the $200 gift card Apple is offering … As always, for the best deals around, check out 9to5Toys.
This year, shoppers participating in Apple’s Black Friday event can get a $250 gift card when they buy a MacBook Pro with M4 Pro or M4 Max chip.
The headline $250 gift card offer is only available when buying one of the most expensive MacBook Pro models. The gift card value decreases from there.
A purchase of a 15-inch MacBook Air earns a $200 gift card, whereas a 13-inch MacBook Air only gets a $175 gift card. Any M4 iMac model comes with a $150 gift card.
Then, $100 gift cards are available when buying either a Mac mini, or an iPad Air (11-inch or 13-inch). A $75 gift card is available when buying an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus, or Apple’s over-ear headphones AirPods Max.
You can get a $50 card with the purchase of iPhone 16e, the entry-level A16 iPad, iPad mini, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, AirPods Pro 3, HomePod, or a selection of Beats wireless headphones.
Finally, a $25 gift card is offered when buying AirPods 4, Apple TV 4K, the Beats Pill, iPad Magic Keyboard, or Apple Pencil Pro.
As in previous years, Apple does not offer a promotional gift card with the purchase of its latest high-end products. That includes the omission of any savings for the iPhone 17 lineup, or the just-launched M5 MacBook Pro and M5 iPad Pro.
The gift card also cannot be used to simply reduce the purchase price at time of purchase, so it is worse than a standard price discount. You must use the gift card for a future hardware purchase at the Apple Store (or to pay for subscriptions/digital in-app purchases on your Apple Account).
