One of my favorite recent accessory launches is Elevation Lab’s TimeCapsule for AirTag, which promises to extend AirTag battery life to 10 years. And today, the company has debuted its follow-up, which offers 5 years of AirTag battery in a much more compact form factor.

One of my least favorite things about Apple’s AirTag is the battery life.
To be fair, a year of battery life is nothing to complain about. But if you have a bunch of AirTags, all in different places and with batteries expiring at different times, low battery notifications can be a far-too-regular annoyance.
That’s why I was thrilled last year when the first TimeCapsule product arrived, promising 10 years of AirTag battery life.
The main downside of the first TimeCapsule is its bulk. It’s a great product, but it’s not the best fit for certain AirTag use cases where space is limited.
But today, a more compact model has arrived, promising 5+ years of battery life—“Over 5x more battery capacity than AirTag’s CR2032 coin cell.”
The new 5-year AirTag battery case runs on two AAA batteries. Elevation Lab recommends using Energizer Ultimate Lithium.
The way it works is simple: just place an AirTag inside, add AAA batteries, and you won’t have to worry about battery life for a very long time.
Some nice details include the case being waterproof, and offering no indication it’s housing an AirTag.
