Jake Paul is set to meet Olympic gold medalist and boxing champion Anthony Joshua in the ring this week. And unlike the recently canceled match between Paul and Gervonta Davis, this will be a professional bout, and not an exhibition fight.
Joshua comes in with a wealth of experience at age 36. He's been boxing since 2007, earned a gold medal in 2012 while representing Great Britain at the London Olympics and turned pro in 2013. Since then, he's been a seasoned heavyweight fighter whose record includes 25 wins by knockout and championship titles under the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Association.
This will be Paul's most recent fight since squaring off against Julio César Chávez Jr. in June and Mike Tyson in 2024. No titles are on the line for the upcoming face-off between him and Joshua, but weight will certainly come into play as the 28-year-old Paul -- who has hovered around 227 pounds -- steps in the ring with Joshua, who's sizeable at 6 feet, 6 inches, and has agreed to a 245-pound cap.
"I'm going to bring him to another school of boxing that I don't think he's been exposed to yet," said Joshua during the pair's press conference in November.
