If you've grown tired of relentless price hikes from your favorite streaming platforms, it's nice to know that free TV services like Tubi, Fawesome and Pluto TV can be counted on for all kinds of great shows and movies. New films (and TV shows) arrive on these platforms every month, making them fantastic options if you don't want to pay for another service.

Over on Tubi, not only will you find a whole bunch of recent creepy faves like Ari Aster's Hereditary and Mia Goth in Pearl, but you'll also catch some fun original films, too. Death Name, a spooky thriller starring Kevin Woo, who voiced Mystery Saja in KPop Demon Hunters, follows a young Korean-American woman who inadvertently awakens a deadly family curse. The film, directed by filmmaker Réi, arrives on Tubi on Jan. 9.

Over on Kanopy, there's a great selection of new arrivals, too, ranging from the Kristen Stewart drama Love Lies Bleeding to the great '80s action comedy Running Scared. And on Pluto TV, recent classics like Anchorman and Almost Famous are now available.

These titles are just a small sampling of the movies arriving this month on free digital platforms. Here's a look at some of what we're excited to stream in January.
