At CES 2026, gimbal and accessories maker Hohem announced a new portable SSD called the Hohem SSD-01. The external storage device is a plug-and-play solution that’s compatible with Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, macOS, and Windows. It offers fast transfer speeds, with read speeds up to 2,000MB/s and write speeds up to 1,800MB/s. At 29g, the device is small and lightweight, yet still offers ample storage with 1TB and 2TB options.

As for what sets it apart from other portable SSDs, let’s start with the storage. While 2TB of storage is often more than enough for most people, this device allows you to extend that amount if you need even more space. Hohem claims that this is the first portable SSD with capacity expansion.

In another first, this SSD offers built-in ports for a microphone receiver and fast charging. With the microphone receiver port, you can capture audio without extra equipment when recording video. Speaking of video, this device supports ProRes RAW, Open Gate, and 4K resolutions taken at 120FPS. Meanwhile, the fast-charging port supports up to 65W speeds.
