ChatGPT's upcoming cross-platform feature is codenamed "Agora"

OpenAI is internally testing a new feature called "Agora," and it could be related to some sort of cross-platform feature that works in real time or some other new product.

Over the past few weeks, OpenAI has been spotted testing several new features, including ChatGPT Translate, which is now available for everyone.

As spotted on X by AI researcher Tibor Blaho, OpenAI rolled out an update to the web, Android, and iOS apps with references to "Agora."

According to Tibor, ChatGPT Agora could be related to either of the three internal ideas:

the mentions of iOS, Android, and client probably point to some new cross-platform app or a device/feature that'll run on both

"agora" means a public space or marketplace in Greek, which could hint at social, community, or group interactions

could also be connected to agora[.]ai (known for audio/video SDKs), possibly pointing to a communication feature - voice, video, etc.
