EU antitrust legislation forced Apple to allow third-party app stores for iPhone within the bloc, with MacPaw’s Setapp Mobile one of the first to take advantage of this.

The closure may force subscribers to take out individual subscriptions to at least some of the apps they’ve been using through the service in order to have continued access to the data stored in them.
The service previously offered access to the paid versions of more than 50 iPhone apps for a single monthly subscription without any in-app purchases or ads. It first launched as a limited beta in the spring of 2024 with a full public launch in September of the same year.
Setapp for Mac is unaffected.
