Untitled Apple TV project will also see Dakota Fanning (All Her Fault) serve as executive producer alongside her sister, Elle Fanning (A Rainy Day in New York). Here’s what it’s about.

Just as Deadline reported that Apple landed the rights for the new show “in a competitive situation last year,” Apple published a press release outlining the plot as follows:

Fanning will star as an undercover Treasury agent in a multibillion-dollar international conglomerate with world-changing political and criminal tentacles, who becomes conflicted between her mission and a belief that her principal target, the heir apparent to all that corrupt power, is at his core a good man and worthy of her love.

The company also confirmed that in addition to starring, Dakota Fanning will also serve as an executive producer alongside Elle Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward (The Great), Julie Gardner (Lady In The Lake), and Kari Skogland (Smoke), who will also direct.

The untitled thriller is a Sony Pictures Television production, with Apple TV distributing it exclusively. The deal further expands Apple and Sony Pictures Television’s ongoing relationship, which also includes For All Mankind, its upcoming spinoff Star City, Black Bird, The Afterparty, Platonic, Pluribus, and Dark Matter.

As is usually the case with recently greenlit projects, there isn’t a release timeline yet. However, the show’s name should be announced sooner rather than later.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
