I’ll never buy earbuds without this Galaxy Buds feature

I’ve been using Samsung’s Galaxy Buds for a long time. In fact, I’ve owned six of the ten versions of the Galaxy Buds that Samsung has released since 2019. When I upgraded to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, it wasn’t the improved sound quality or ANC that impressed me the most. Instead, it was a software feature I initially wrote off as a gimmick, but now I wouldn’t want to use any earbuds without it.

Do you use voice commands on your Galaxy Buds 3? 16 votes Yes 31 % No 31 % I don't use Galaxy Buds 3 38 %

Voice commands that work everywhere

The feature in question is voice commands, which you can turn on in the voice controls menu in the Galaxy Wearable app. Voice commands let you play and pause music, change tracks, adjust volume, and answer and reject calls. My only criticism, as far as what you can do with voice commands, is that you can’t change between ANC and ambient mode.

Voice commands aren’t tied to Samsung products or even the Galaxy Wearable app, either. Once you’ve turned voice commands on, they work on every device I’ve tested, including an iPad, my NVIDIA Shield TV, Chromebooks, and Windows PCs.

These commands also work for more than just music. Even though you have to say “play music” or “next song,” these actions will work for non-music apps, including YouTube and some streaming services (Paramount Plus doesn’t work), with the next song command skipping to the next episode of what you’re watching.
