Apple surveys Vision Pro users and asks about Meta’s Ray-Bans

Apple is surveying Vision Pro owners, and some of the questions go beyond the device’s comfort or resolution. In addition to features like Guest Mode, and which accessories people actually use, Apple wants to know what its users see in rival products (even in categories where it doesn’t compete yet).

Apple is already exploring ways to compete in the smart glasses market

As reported by MacRumors, Apple is asking Vision Pro users whether they also own products like the Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, PlayStation VR, Valve Index, and ByteDance’s Pico, all of which compete in the same general category, to some extent.

But Apple doesn’t stop there, and reportedly also is inquiring users about smart glasses, like the Meta Ray-Bans, Amazon Echo Frames, and Snapchat Spectacles. These products aren’t direct competitors to the Vision Pro, but they could soon be up against Apple’s own smart glasses, which are rumored to launch in 2027.

Interestingly, not all Vision Pro users appear to be seeing the same version of the survey. As user jimmypopjr shared on Reddit:

“huh, I got a AVP survey today, but there was no mention of additional Vision products. Was centered around how would I improve the current version.”

Product surveys are common, but this one wasn’t

Apple regularly runs product surveys, including one sent to Vision Pro users as recently as last October, which focused on satisfaction and general usability.
