Bearaby Pillow Boots for $149: These indoor booties are, in fact, made from Bearaby pillows and wrapped in organic cotton. They're uber-snug, cozy enough to wear without socks, and surprisingly don't make your feet sweat as most slipper boots do. They're breathable and machine-washable, but they need to be hung dry, which can take quite some time. Sizing is also limited to small, medium, and large, with the largest fitting up to a men's 10.5 or a women's 12.5. The soles aren't designed for outdoor use, but Bearaby claims they're comfortable enough to sleep in. (I personally will not be doing that.)

Verloop Slide Slippers for $44: Verloop has some of the most colorful designs I've tested. Unfortunately, they're flimsy and don't offer much support, especially if you have plantar fasciitis. Fleece-lined and made of hypoallergenic yarn, they feel soft, but they won't keep your feet warm in cold temperatures. I do appreciate that they're machine-washable. Verloop also sells House Socks, which are at least warmer than its Slide Slippers.

Glerups Slip-On with Leather Sole for $100: These slip-on wool slippers with a calfskin sole fit more like a sock than most of the slippers I own, which may be why I've found myself going to them more and more over the past year. The body of the slipper is a half-inch of tight-knit wool that feels almost like crafting felt and is warm in the winter without being hot in the summer. The wool used is a blend of Danish Gotland sheep and a breed from New Zealand, and I've never felt a tingle of an itch. Wool is naturally odor-resistant, which is great for slippers, and my pair of Glerups still smells about as fresh as the day I got them. —Martin Cizmar

Cozy Earth Lakehouse Clog for $128: The cork styling channels the iconic Birkenstock clog, but unlike Birks, the suede leather footbed is soft enough to slowly mold underfoot. The felt top is soft but not especially warm. They look great and can be worn out to the store if you don't want to commit to them as house shoes. —Martin Cizmar

Cozy Earth Puffy Sheep Slippers for $98: I'm so jealous of my 9-year-old daughter, who has been testing these ultra-luxe slippers for me, since they’re not available in my size. They put puffy in the name, and indeed, they feel more like cotton balls than sneakers. If you're looking for spa-ready slippers, these are just the ticket. They do have a sturdy rubber sole, however, so while your feet are encased in ultra-soft sheep fur and shearling, you can run out to the mailbox and then wipe the sole off. —Martin Cizmar
