Amazon Boycott Organizer Urges Shoppers to 'Hold the Line' Until Friday

John Schwarz, who organized the weeklong Amazon boycott that began Friday, urged shoppers to "hold the line" and not buy anything from the retail giant until the week ends. In a video posted to Instagram, Schwarz said he personally has not bought anything from the company since the protest began. "I'm just here to remind you to hold the line," Schwarz said in the Instagram Story. "I have not done any Amazon shopping, obviously, I haven't watched anything (on Prime Video), my friends haven't, my family hasn't." Schwarz said he had received "hundreds of messages" from all over the world from people saying they had joined the protest and were not shopping with Amazon. The movement he created is called People's Union USA. The weeklong avoidance of Amazon is "not just a boycott," but rather a "calculated strike," Schwarz wrote in a March 4 Instagram post.
