Apple TV has just added a new series to its March release calendar: delayed thriller The Hunt, which will premiere following a plagiarism investigation.
The Hunt is coming to Apple TV following three-month delay
Last November, just two weeks before French language thriller series The Hunt was scheduled to premiere on Apple TV, the show was abruptly pulled from the release calendar.
Unlike also-delayed series The Savant, which is still listed online as part of Apple’s upcoming slate, The Hunt was scrubbed entirely from Apple’s press site and YouTube.
It didn’t take long to find out why. Apple and production partner Gaumont reportedly learned of an allegation of plagiary involving the series.
Fortunately, per Deadline, that has now been resolved. Here’s the statement from producer Gaumont:
The Hunt‘s release was postponed after it was identified in November 2025 that the project, presented as an original work, was based on an existing work, Douglas Fairbairn’s Shoot. As soon as this information came to its attention, Gaumont, the series’ producer, immediately took the necessary steps to identify the rights holders, and obtain the required authorizations.
The Hunt is now set to hit Apple TV on Wednesday, March 4, three months after the original date.
