What's the best internet deal available now?

Let's be real: You can't cut the internet from your monthly expenses. Our world is so online, that paying bills, booking medical appointments and doing work typically require a decent internet connection. But the internet is expensive and most US adults end up paying 63% more for internet service each year.

While we're limited to the locally available internet options, you can still sign up for internet and get a gift card or deal on your monthly cost in the process.

Most internet service providers run deals all year long. Some of these deals are better than others: Many ISPs use price traps that'll keep you stuck with a subpar plan for a while. But we've done the research for you and compiled the top deals and perks from some of the most popular ISPs. From gift cards to free tech to discounted rates -- there's a little bit of everything out there.

This August, our favorite internet deal right now is Astound's 1-gig plan. For a limited time, you can get Astound's 1,000Mbps plan for just $35 a month. That deal lasts for a full three years, and some addresses may be eligible for an extra $100 gift card to sweeten the deal. In some places, like Annapolis, you can get the 1-gig plan for $30 a month with an unheard of price-for-life-guarantee. That's one of the best internet deals we've seen in a while -- most gigabit plans are priced at $70 to start and only go up from there.

If you're looking for other signup bonus offers, ISPs often throw in gift cards, streaming service subscriptions, free months of service or other incentives for new customers. AT&T Fiber and Optimum typically offer gift cards to all online customers, while Verizon Fios keeps it interesting with a frequent mix of free streaming services or a price lock guarantee of up to five years.

To entice new customers, T-Mobile Home Internet is offering a $300 gift card for those who sign up for All-In Home Internet and Amplified Home Internet. The Amplified Home Internet plan costs $60 a month for speeds up to 415Mbps, and the Amplified Home Internet plan costs $70 for the same speeds, but with the inclusion of a mesh access point for better Wi-Fi. The deal comes after T-Mobile's recent gateway router upgrade boosted speeds across all T-Mobile Home Internet plans, so if you've been looking for a chance to try out 5G internet, you really can't go wrong with a $300 gift card. Note that the gift cards are only eligible after 60 days of service, and you only get the gift card after 10 weeks of service, so keep that in mind before committing to trying it out.
