Where to watch
Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid will air in the US on ESPN Select.
Atlético Madrid will be looking to upend their city rivals' title challenge on Sunday as they head to the Bernabéu to take on Real Madrid.
Currently sitting in third place in La Liga, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona ahead of this weekend's action, and seemingly out of the title race, Atlético's main hopes of silverware this term now appear likely to lie elsewhere.
The club advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals in midweek after edging past Tottenham in the round of 16, with Los Rojiblancos also having next month's Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad to look forward to.
Real, meanwhile, know they can't afford any further slip-ups as they looks to reduce Barcelona's four-point lead. Los Blancos neverthless come into this match off the back of a morale-boosting 5-1 aggregate victory over Manchester City in the Champions League.
The reverse fixture between these two teams back in September saw Atlético hand Real its first La Liga defeat of the season under then-boss Xabi Alonso, with Diego Simeone's side mounting a pulsating comeback to win 5-2 at the Metropolitano.
Real Madrid takes on Atlético Madrid at the Estadio Bernabéu on Saturday, March 22. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. CET local time, which is 4 p.m. ET or 1 p.m. PT in the US and Canada, 8 p.m. GMT in the UK and 7 a.m. AEDT in Australia on Monday morning.
