Parker Ortolani came across an incredible video of Steve Jobs speaking to Apple employees over the weekend. Akira Nonaka published the footage of Jobs from 1999.
The video captures Steve Jobs speaking to company employees a few days after the iBook introduction in July 1999. That’s two years after Jobs returned to Apple, and two years before the introduction of the iPod.
As Parker points out, Jobs makes the understatement of the century — both the 20th and 21st, really — when he wraps up the talk with this:
I happen to know all the things in the pipeline and I can tell you, there’s so many more great things coming. It’s unbelievable. The products are just unbelievable. Best stuff I’ve ever seen in my life. I think we’re gonna be able to really rock and roll the next few years.
Rock and roll, they did. The whole thing is breaming with vintage Steve Jobs confidence and full of gems that put Apple’s 50th anniversary in perspective.
