This baseball season will also introduce the automated ball strike system, powered by T-Mobile's 5G network. The ABS system will debut on Opening Night, when the Giants play the Yankees in Netflix's first-ever live MLB game. The new system, which has been used in the minor leagues since 2022, allows players to challenge umpire home-plate calls. The goal is to ensure the right calls are made.
