Why This Matters

The ESR 5-card MagSafe wallet offers a significant upgrade for consumers seeking more capacity, better card organization, and stronger magnetic hold compared to Apple's FineWoven wallet. Its enhanced features and thoughtful design make it a compelling choice for iPhone users who prioritize convenience and security in their everyday carry. This development highlights ongoing innovation in MagSafe accessories, emphasizing user experience and device compatibility in the tech industry.

Key Takeaways

I have tried many MagSafe wallets over the years, and I have yet to find the perfect one. After spending a few weeks with the Apple FineWoven wallet, I decided to swap to ESR’s five-card MagSafe wallet (in black). While the ESR option supports five cards, compared to the three you get with the FineWoven version, it is definitely much thicker. Even with the extra bulk, it has quickly become my current daily carry thanks to its separate ID slots and the ability to hold multiple cards.

It holds up to five cards, with three dedicated slots and a clear ID window for a driver’s license. I absolutely love the dedicated ID slot. ESR also added a wider oval slot at the bottom that makes it easier to slide cards out, which is an issue I have had with other wallets. It is one of those small touches that really make a big difference when you use it multiple times a day. Because you can separate the cards, you can get your ID without dealing with your credit cards, and vice versa. I have had multiple instances with Apple’s wallet where I pull everything out, and I end up dropping one of my credit cards on the ground.

The magnetic strength of this wallet is also worth noting. ESR claims it has 3,200 g of holding force, which is four times stronger than Apple’s FineWoven MagSafe wallet. I will say, it’s pretty impressive when you have both it and Apple’s together and seeing the difference. It only comes off when you want it to come off. The stand is also a great feature as well. I used it to watch some of the MLB Spring Training at my desk.

Wrap up

Overall, I love it. I love the separate slots for IDs and credit cards. It is made of vegan leather and features built-in degaussing protection to prevent your cards from demagnetizing. It is compatible with every MagSafe iPhone except the 12 and 13 mini (RIP), and it works with official MagSafe cases and ESR’s own HaloLock cases. Right now, it is my current everyday MagSafe wallet. The only thing it is missing is Find My support.
