It’s safe to say that the Nothing Phone 4a Pro stands out in the mid-range smartphone market, and not just thanks to its quirky stylings and capable camera setup. The phone is well-spec’d, packs plenty of battery power, and won’t cost an arm and a leg. Picking it is a deliberate choice, though, and arguably, there are better devices out there.

My colleague Joe Maring recently compiled a hit list of solid alternatives, and we wanted to know which of them is your favorite. So, we ran a poll, and nearly 20,000 votes later, the results are as follows.

According to our readers, the best alternative to the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is the Google Pixel 10a, taking home over a quarter (~27%) of the vote. Is anyone really surprised? The mid-range Google phone might not be as exciting as the nothing, but it does come with a far longer software support promise, is far smaller and more pocketable, and offers the software goodness that Pixels are famed for. At a glance, it appears that two phones share the spoils for the runner-up spot, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE edges out the OnePlus 13R by just 49 votes, or ~0.2%. Considering this poll amassed over 19,800 votes, that’s a grain of sand in a very large ocean.

Samsung and OnePlus, separated by a hair The Galaxy S25 FE is a solid smartphone, though. Again, compared to the Nothing Phone’s design, it can’t really compete aesthetically. It can, however, offer buyers Samsung’s brilliant One UI skin, solid build quality, and a faster chipset. It’s much more expensive though, even when its frequent sale spells arrive.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 13R is the power user’s choice on this list. It packs the fastest chipset of the lot, a roomy 6,000mAh battery, and faster wired charging to top it all up again.

The best of the rest, and they’re both from Motorola Bringing up the rear are the two Motorolas we mentioned, the Moto G Stylus (2025) (~14%) and the Motorola Razr (2025) (~12%).
