Apple Sports' support for the 2026 FIFA World Cup enhances the app's value for soccer fans by providing real-time updates and seamless tracking of the tournament across multiple regions. Key Takeaways

Apple has updated the Apple Sports app to support the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to kick off on June 11 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Here’s how to follow your favorite teams.

How to follow your favorite teams on Apple Sports

Apple Sports lets users follow real-time scores and stats across their favorite teams and sports, right from Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

From racing, to tennis, from soccer, to basketball and baseball, the app now supports multiple sports leagues in several regions, including the U.S., Mexico, Europe, and Brazil.

And with the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, it was only a matter of time before Apple added support for the tournament, which will bring together 48 nations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from June 11 through July 19.

As spotted by MacRumors, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is now listed on Apple Sports.

To follow the tournament, look for “FIFA World Cup 2026” in the Search interface, then tap the star button to add it to your “My Leagues” section.

Alternatively, you can follow teams independently from the “My Teams” section. Finally, you can manage both “My Leagues” and “My Teams” by tapping the “Edit” button from the menu on the top right corner of the app.

Once the corresponding matches start on June 11, Apple Sports will automatically display a Live Activity with real-time information about the game. You’ll also be able to follow the groups and playoffs as the tournament progresses, leading up to the final march on July 19.
