Now through April 13th, new Apple Card users can receive a boosted 5% cash back on groceries for their first 6 months of card membership. This is considerably higher value than the typical 1-2% cash back you’d receive on groceries.
Apple has been running this offer in a targeted capacity for at least a month, but there hasn’t yet been a publicly available link. Now, there is: you can sign up here.
This offer allows new users to earn 5% cash back on groceries purchased with both the physical titanium card and with Apple Pay, providing users with up to $500 in bonus cash back. A bonus that applies to the physical Apple Card is quite rare, though there is a slight catch.
Since you’re capped at earning $500 in bonus cash back, you’ll technically be covered at 5% for less spend if you use the physical card – since earning a bonus 4% would cap out after $12,500 in grocery spend, whereas you’re covered for up to $16,667 in grocery spend with a bonus 3%.
That fact may not matter since you’re only covered for your first 6 months of being a cardholder (and you likely aren’t spending that much on groceries in your just 6 months), but it’s worth pointing out.
Either way, Apple is offering an additional up to $500 in cash back for grocery spend for new cardholders, though you have under 2 weeks to claim the offer.
Wrap up
Outside of this offer, Apple Card offers 1% cash back using the titanium card, 2% cash back on all purchases made with Apple Pay, and 3% cash back on purchases made at Apple and select partner merchants. Some of those merchants include Ace Hardware, Booking.com, ChargePoint, Walgreens/Duane Reade, Uber/Uber Eats, Exxon Mobil, Hertz, and Nike.
There’s also an offer for all Apple Card cardholders where users can earn 5% cash back at Walgreens and Duane Reade through May 20th.
Apple Card is also undergoing a bank transition, moving from Goldman Sachs to JPMorgan Chase. Existing cardholders will have a seamless transition, and you can read more about it here.
