Transcripts now available in Overcast for all users

Overcast version 2026.04 launched on the App Store today, and it brought a major new feature: transcripts.

Last month we learned that transcripts were coming when they arrived in Overcast’s beta. But now, the feature is available for all users running the latest update.

You can download Overcast here on the App Store.

Transcripts are available by swiping left when viewing the podcast artwork. If the show supports chapters, the transcript is just right of the chapter screen.

Similar to Apple Podcasts, transcripts in Overcast will live-scroll as you listen to an episode so that what you see on-screen always matches what you’re hearing. And you can tap any portion of the transcript to jump to that part of the episode.

Developer Marco Arment says transcripts are available for “most podcasts,” but even if a show doesn’t have a transcript yet, AI-compatible devices running iOS 26 can create the transcript automatically.
