GoKawiilAs part of Apple’s reorganization elevating John Ternus to CEO, the company also promoted Johny Srouji to a broader new chief hardware officer role. With this move, the company combined its hardware engineering and hardware technologies divisions into a single organization, overseen by Srouji.
In an email to employees on Monday, Srouji outlined how he plans to organize things in this new structure.
As reported by Bloomberg, Srouji will organize the combined hardware engineering and hardware technologies group into five areas:
Hardware engineering: Overseen by Tom Marieb, who joined Apple from Intel in 2019.
Silicon: Overseen by Sri Santhanam, an 18-year Apple veteran.
Advanced technologies: Overseen by Zongjian Chen, a 17-year Apple veteran.
Platform architecture: Overseen by Tim Millet, a 21-year Apple veteran.
Project management: Overseen by Donny Nordhues, a 20-year Apple veteran.
In the memo, Srouji wrote:
“As part of this transition, I’ve been asked to step into the role of Chief Hardware Officer and to combine the hardware technologies and hardware engineering teams under a single organization. I am excited to bring these teams together, to integrate them further, and to help us innovate in an even bigger way than we already do. As you know, we have a very exciting road map ahead, and I believe there is no limit to what we can achieve together.
