Spotify is celebrating its 20th birthday today, and one new gift for users is Claude integration. Spotify’s music and podcast streaming service now integrates with Anthropic’s AI. Here’s how it works.
Claude users can now connect Spotify to power music and podcast recommendations
The new Spotify feature is available through Claude for desktop as well as the mobile app on iPhone and Android.
It lets Claude users connect a Spotify account, then use Spotify to power music and podcast picks from the chatbot app.
Starting today, Spotify users can connect their account to Claude for personalized recommendations based on their taste and listening history. The recommendations come from Spotify’s personalization technology and deep catalog expertise.
Spotify integration with Claude also extends to audio playback. This includes the ability to preview audio, save songs and podcasts to your Spotify library, and play media directly in Claude.
Claude can generate Spotify playlists from prompts
While both free and paid Spotify users can enjoy access in Claude, Spotify extends one additional feature to Premium subscribers: describing a vibe or mood to generate a playlist.
Apple introduced its own AI-powered playlist generation feature as part of Apple Music in iOS 26.4. The new feature is available now.
Finally, Spotify says Claude uses Spotify Connect, so it’s easy to switch between listening sessions in Claude, the Spotify app, or any device. You can learn more about the Spotify and Claude collaboration here.
