Why This Matters

Peacock's new streaming features for the 2026 World Cup, including Spanish-language coverage, interactive tools, and multiple viewing options, enhance accessibility and engagement for fans. These updates demonstrate how streaming platforms are expanding their offerings to cater to diverse audiences and improve live sports experiences. This development signifies a shift towards more personalized and interactive sports broadcasting in the digital age.

Key Takeaways

The 2026 World Cup is approaching, and fans who can't attend games in person will have multiple ways to watch at home. Peacock will stream Telemundo's coverage of the entire tournament in Spanish, which will now include access to an interactive schedule and the key plays feature, the company announced on Wednesday.

Viewers will be able to watch two games in Spanish for free, either on Peacock or the Telemundo app: Mexico vs. South Africa on June 11 and USA vs. Paraguay on June 12. These games will be available to all Peacock subscribers, including the $8-a-month Select tier.

In a first for the NBCUniversal-owned platform, it's adding a Spanish-language FIFA World Cup hub to the app. Fans will be able to head there to watch live games and access "replays, schedules, country and group-specific news, entertainment content and mobile‑first vertical highlights." After seeing success with its Courtside Live and Rinkside features during the NBA season and the Winter Olympics, Peacock is launching Pitchside Live, or Visión de Campo. It allows viewers to take in the action from vantage points close to the field.

As part of the app's Spanish-language updates for FIFA, a new feature lets you create your own tournament brackets. Multiview is available in Spanish, along with Telemundo's highlight coverage in vertical video format. Fans can play along with the app's World Cup trivia games, too.

FIFA World Cup 2026 will run from June 11 through July 19, and Peacock will stream every match on both subscription plans.
